He is an award winning African youth SDGs Advocate recognized in 2023 at the African Youth Summit in Lusaka, Zambia under the category; “Leave No One Behind“. He is an author of “Imagine Being George“, a memoir that details his struggle to get access to education and how he is giving back to his community through making accessible education he for many years struggled to get.
George is a visionary leader with a passion for social change and a track record of driving impactful initiatives such as Education in Crisis. As the Executive Director of EIC, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization’s mission of promoting inclusive, equitable, quality education for poverty alleviation and sustainable development.
With a background in social enterprises and community engagement, after facing difficulties in accessing higher education in 2019, George has since then dedicated his career to addressing pressing social issues such as #EducationCrisis on the continent and advocating for marginalized communities in Africa. He is known for his strategic vision, innovative thinking, and ability to mobilize resources to effect positive change.
Under his leadership, Education in Crisis has achieved significant milestones, including being recognized and awarded by the Africans Rising in 2022 as the second runner up movement of the year and in 2023 under the category of Goal 4: Quality education in Lusaka, Zambia by African Youth SDGs Summit. George is committed to fostering collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the organization and with external partners.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, George is actively involved in traveling to explore new cultures and perspectives, as well as diving into a good book to broaden his knowledge and insights. He also participates in community engagement initiatives, advocacy for marginalized communities, and partnerships aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and promoting social justice. George believes deeply in the power of collective action and is dedicated to empowering others to become agents of change.
As Executive Director, George is committed to advancing EIC’s mission and expanding its impact on the communities it serves. He believes in the importance of innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability around education in achieving lasting social change.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, George finds inspiration in his interactions with diverse cultures and perspectives, fueling his commitment to building a more just and equitable world.
With his leadership, passion, and dedication, George is driving EIC forward on its mission to ensure accessibility of Sustainable Development Goal 4, with a commitment to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Which is a pivotal driver for positive change, emphasizing the transformative power of education in fostering a sustainable and equitable world.
