Since the foundation in 2019, EIC has directly impacted over 201 children and youth in Five African countries through delivering and ensuring children and youth whose education is in crisis are retained or taken back to class by providing tuition, scholastic materials, and supported through mentorship as they take on their learning in different partner schools in Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, and Kenya.

The Foundational Scholars Program (FSP) is EIC’s flagship program that was the first and currently ongoing project initiated by EIC to send or retain the first 100 school children to/in school from 2020 academic year in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan State, Sudan. This started with the two children, Chichi Simon, and Martha Khamis (R.I.P May 2023) with paying for fees, school supplies such as uniforms, books, pens, reproductive health products. The two girls became our foundational scholars before being joined by more in East Africa countries in the later years.
To measure the impact of providing quality education to a child who didn’t have the same opportunity like their counterparts in the rest of the world, EIC aims at maintaining a track record of the first One Hundred foundational Scholars who will be supported through their secondary and college education to their professional careers including merging them with relevant companies for internships and jobs such that they are able to give back to support another cohort of one hundred more so that EIC looks back to tell a story of One Hundred ways to transform someone’s life through #QualityEducation.
With the founding principle of mobilizing local resources from within local people to solve local problems facing local people, EIC aims at standing and walking by the side of the first one hundred foundational scholars till they are professionally able to contribute back to their selves, families, communities, and the world just as they were helped by EIC’s members.
Beyond the classroom, your additional contributions support youth volunteers with training they need to support the school going children as they keep in class. The First 100 contributors are called Founding members receive 1 certificate of appreciation for supporting 1 child.
We work together with children, young people, communities, supporters and partners to tackle the root causes of education crisis to effect necessary changes in policies, and practices for sustainable development. There are many internally displaced people in Sudan as well as refugees from neighbouring countries due to protracted conflicts. In addition, the country’s economy is deteriorating, public expenditure on education and healthcare is shrinking and there is a high prevalence of child marriage and female genital mutilation.
We are committed to supporting vulnerable and marginalised children and their communities to be free from children’s’ rights violation, violence, gender inequality and poverty. We strengthen the ability of girls and young people to learn, lead, decide and thrive in their lives and communities.
HOW EIC’s SPONSORSHIP WORKS
Identification of a child to Sponsor.
Sponsors may identify individuals or educational programs that align with their philanthropic goals, corporate social responsibility initiatives, or desire to support education. Opportunities for educational sponsorship could include scholarships, grants, funding for specific projects or programs, or support for educational institutions.
Evaluation, Decision and Selection
Sponsors evaluate children available for sponsorship based on their established criteria and priorities for careers of a child mentioned in their stories. This may involve contacting EIC’s scholarship team to get helped in selection to determine the most deserving recipients for sponsorship.
Agreement and Commitment
Once recipients or projects are selected, sponsors and beneficiaries formalize the sponsorship arrangement through an agreement or contract. This document outlines the terms and conditions of the sponsorship, including the amount of funding, duration, expectations, reporting requirements, and any other relevant details.
A unique connection established.
As a sponsor, you will be connected to a child who’s an ambassador for their community. You can build this special connection by sharing letters, drawings, and photos so you’ll get a glimpse into their world.

It’s just $5 per month to sponsor a child. Every year, we spend at least 80% on our charitable activities including our emergency response work and long-term development projects, benefiting whole communities in the country where your sponsored child lives.
Recognition and Acknowledgment
Our sponsors often receive recognition and acknowledgment for their support, which may include branding opportunities, naming rights, publicity, or other forms of recognition depending on the nature and scope of the contribution. Most importantly, their portraits hang on the famous wall, the Foundational Donors Wall at the head office of EIC in Arusha, Tanzania to celebrate their support each year.

Your welcome pack introduces you to the child you sponsor and provides information all about them and their community. You’ll receive your pack within 3-5 days of signing up, which includes handy tips on letter writing, so you can get started right away.
Letters exchange
The opportunity to write letters back and forth to get to know more about the child you sponsor and their community. For each letter you send, you’ll receive a letter back.
Updates about their academic progress
Annual and termly updates on your scholar’s progress is very much valued, telling you about how your contribution is making positive changes to the child’s life, together with their local experiences supported by your donations.
