High School Scholarship Program (HSSP)

A High School Scholarship Program is an initiative designed by EIC to provide financial assistance or other support to students who are academically abled but economically disabled to help keep them in class for those on the verge of dropping out and those out-of-school to help them pursue their secondary education and achieve their life’s goals. This scholarship program is a very competitive opportunity since it is a termly basis opportunity offered by EIC. The primary goal of a High School Scholarship Program is to make education more accessible and affordable for students, enabling them to further their studies and reach their potential.
Here are some key aspects EIC considers for this Scholarship Program:
Financial Support: Scholarships can provide financial support to cover various educational expenses, such as tuition and fees, textbooks, school supplies, and sometimes even living expenses. The level of financial support can vary widely, from partial to full scholarships.
Merit-Based and Need-Based Scholarships: Some scholarship programs are merit-based, primarily focusing on a student’s academic achievements, while others are need-based, targeting students who demonstrate financial need. There are also scholarships that combine both merit and need criteria.
Application Process: Students interested in a scholarship must typically complete an application process, which may include submitting academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, and sometimes participating in interviews or other evaluation methods.
Deadline and Selection: Scholarships have application deadlines, and a selection committee or panel reviews the applications and selects the recipients based on the established criteria.
Duration: Scholarships may be one-time awards or renewable for multiple years, depending on the program’s design.
Restrictions and Obligations: Some scholarships may have specific requirements or obligations, such as maintaining a certain GPA, participating in community service, or pursuing a particular field of study.
Scholarships for Specific Purposes: Some scholarship programs are designed for purposes, such as scholarships for students pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, arts, sports, or specific underrepresented demographics.
Impact: Scholarships can have a significant impact on students’ lives by reducing their financial burden, enabling them to focus on their studies, and expanding their educational opportunities.
